Lazy thursday afternoon

After so many days at work, I've decided that I am entitled to a break. So I rejected a relief offer and slacked at home before meeting Andrea at CWP.

Talk about guilty treat! I had two rounds of ice-cream in a span of 3 hours today. Much thanks to Andrea, I gave in to temptation. LOL

LAN! WTH

Okay, I dedicated my virgin LAN experience to this gaming centre in Yishun last Sunday.
Title of the game: L4D2!!! I got the name wrong the very first time I said it. Shows how much I know the game. In short, you get to kill zombies and you have your chance to be a zombie to attack the other team.
But I thought I would be good at it. I mean, I should. I have my experiences with games during my younger days. But it turned out tougher than I imagined. My team consisting of Benny and Andrea has lost terribly to Haikel, Amber and Lester's team. Ughh, what's new right? My team is obviously the weaker. But nvm, I am not giving up. I forsee this game as the latest addiction so practice will make perfect in the days to come. HAH!

Oh well, these days saw me doing relief like a full time teacher, earning money like a mad dog. And FML with the US tax!

peis :))
p.s. Need to make a quick trip to the library to renew my loan before I go down under.

13th April - Dinner at Shokudo, Streets of Japan

I did not manage to capture food because I was late and everyone else has already gobbled up their food. Sat in the restaurant and chatted for a loooonnngg time before we moved on to Blue Mountain Cafe for dessert. It was a great meetup after not seeing them for so long.

The Mudpie wasn't to my liking because I'm not a fan of strawberry ice-cream.

Blueberry Cheesecake

23th April - Lunch at Cafe Beviamo

Beef Sandwich
Chicken and Avocado Salad

Strawberry Shortcake - I give credits to the really fresh and sweet strawberry but I just thought that the scones could have been made better. The scone came with a crispy exterior but the interior could have been a little fluffier. The satin white cream was really light but just a tad too sweet.

Chocolate Chip Cookie - It was good and the baker has thrown in an extremely generous serving of chips.
A very satisfactory lunch though the dessert made me a little guilty after. HAHA!

for one more day

This is my latest read; a book by Mitch Albom titled "for one more day". I've only read a couple of pages and so far, it was about how his life started to fall apart after the death of his mom, his pillar of support. It was borrowed from the library so pardon the horrible cover that is threatening to fall apart. I have pretty high expectation for the book and I can't wait to see how the story is going to unfold.

I had a horrible Sunday and it was a horrible way to end the weekend. The main culprit behind it had better be duly punished and spare us all the agony of her existence.

I can only quote a saying from William Shakespeare:
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

Sunday's drama was unimaginable, things can never be normal again...

I say, loosen the reign

I just told my brother my wild ambition of travelling to somewhere in Europe before I turn 21. Albeit his blunt reply, it is very true.

Brother: You seems to enjoy travelling a lot, always planning to go somewhere.
Me: Erhmm, yah!

It has been something that I refuse to admit but subconsciously, that bud is starting to sprout, and with every intention to bloom...
It's not something that is bad but its appears to be that case for my folks. The idea of a holiday for my traditional folks is a break only after you have worked long and hard. Then you go travelling with any excess allowance you have. They do not approve of me working long and hard just to go travelling, exhausting every last penny in my pocket.
But I'm still young and not tied down by any responsibilities so I have the rights to enjoy every last penny of my hard-earned money, right?!

There are too many a times when their conventional thinking had me tied down. I want so much to rebutt but they're my folks afterall. How far can I push my thoughts across without them getting mad at me and me getting exasperated!
How I wish I can make they comprehend the thrill of stepping foot in an entirely new place with so much to explore. The diverse people, the marvellous food, the rich history, the culture, the language, the architecture, the nature and what else have I missed out?!?

The world is so big that even if I start now, I won't be able to mark my footprint across. Whatmore if I were to wait till I am older, with more responsibilities to tie me down. It will be even harder to get me moving..

Just one more day till April commence, the pages on the calendar flips by too quickly.. I gave myself a month break and the deadline is almost over but without any other plans on hand, it looks like I am going to extend it further.
Results are out and I would say it is the best results over the past years, nonetheless my overall GPA still sucks.
I'm starting to feel really frustrated with myself because I don't seems to be doing anything much. And I meant thinking about my future.. Or I should say, I think a lot but I'm not making any effort to do anything. Now that I'm feeling the pressure, I've just printed the kaplan application form but I don't even know when the deadline is.

And all it seems that I have on hand is how to have fun for april and then may... I'm feeling really uneasy now because I don't want to waste anymore time but I don't know what step to take next. I'm also tired of my dad pushing his idealistic ideas on me. Besides everyone else around seemed to have planned their life and know what they're doing next.

All I have is a thousand things jumbled in my brain and I'm just weighing and eliminating furtile choices. I'm so vexed I don't even know what to say already..

Back from Bangkok, safe and sound.
After 5 days of gorging, I had a really light lunch this afternoon, vegetable soup and steamed tofu. I need to drink my tea to detox later and clear my bowels.

Alas, it was a good break and I came back feeling satisfied with all my loots. I am definitely a few hundred bucks poorer but I am a thousand times happier :)))
Now, its time to unpack those lovelies in my luggage. Oh and make space for them, I still have clothes in the vacuum bags from the states. I hope my wardrobe will magically make space for more clothes :))))
