Woooohooo...

This is the time of the year where everyone starts drafting new resolution for the coming 2010. However, I think that resolution are mere guidelines or a norm at the beginning of the year. Ultimately, when life-turning opportunities surfaces, it's up to you to grab it and not let slip. That's not something that you can foresee and plan into your resolutions.
Looking back, I think its important that I reflect on what I've done in 2009. I did not come up with any resolution for 2009, at least not one which I declare that I will stick to. However, I did tell myself that it will be a good year and silently hoping for the best, especially so since I was embarking on a six months journey to the States.

However, it was not just a good year. 2009 has been an smashing and awesome year, one which I did not just waste my life away. A year which I'm proud to share and boast about. In fact, I think it's the best year I've lived so far. I'm thankful for the opportunity to do my internship in Walt Disney World and I'm glad that I had grabbed hold of it. It's so surreal that I can't believe I really done it.
I've travelled more than I've ever done so far in my 18 years of life, and the experience I've went through can never be found in any book. I've met so many different people from all around the world. They, who taught me new things (under good and bad circumstances) and changed my views in life. Besides my newfound independence and confidence, I've also came to realise who are the people that really matters and who stand by me. It was also a year of realisation...

It is also when I realised that it's best not to stand waiting foolishly for one, when they can't decide what they really want. Moving on is hard, but staying on is only foolish. Of all the bittersweet, I know I've became a stonger person.
Now, that is something I'm proud to tell everyone at the end of the year.

As I look on to 2010 with a blur, I wonder what are my opportunities ahead. As graduation approach, I've got to decide what I want to do about my life and where I want to head to. Not just me, but everyone. As all of us takes on differing path, I can only hope that no one gets too caught up in their life and lose sight of what we really want and who we really are.

Besides embarking on a path to success, another part of me wish I knew where you are because I will take flight to find you. You, who will eventually walk into my life and make me realise why it did not work out with anyone else. Even though I'm fully aware of the perks to staying single, I want to embrace the joy of falling and staying in love. Besides kinship and friendship, no other joy on earth stands equivalent to that. HAHA, what a way to end it!

Happy New Year, everyone. May this coming year be one filled with joy, success and bliss in your life :)))

it's a small small world

Boxing Day. So I may say it as the day after Christmas but I have no clue what it really is. So I asked Thomas if he knows what is boxing day.He told me that rumors has it that after Christmas, families has a lot of boxes to pack up after all the gifts... So its a day to "box-ed up", thus Boxing Day -.-
OOOOK... No doubt, I was a little skeptical (in fact, VERY)about it. Therefore since I'm bored at work, I've decided to wiki it. Wiki has it that in Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and some states of Australia, Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday. So it's Post Christmas Sale. I don't know how credible it is, because there are alot of versions of what Boxing Day is. But how is sales related to Boxing Day????

Guess what I inferred; its because these stores will also need to do alot of "box-ed up" at the end of the day. HAHAHA!!
Pardon my lousy punchline, maybe Boxing Day just meant something else.. OMGGG.. I'm so bored that I'm as lame as Thomas.

On eve, went out for Yum Cha with Weijie. I swear it is insane to do timsum buffet with only one other person. We ate so much, I had trouble walking... Then I had to sit down at this table by the street when we're out. This stupid woman came and grumbled "Eh Miss, I do business one, need to buy water then can sit down ah. I do business one horr". OKAY, FINE!! I know you're running a business but there're zero customers and I'm not hindering your business. Seriously, I wanted to use my Yield Management knowledge on her. So I had to struggle down the street and I need to sit down at every opportunity.

We headed to town after which and I snapped a picture of two friends who saw each other by coincidences. What a small world this is, to be able to bump into your friend on a street SO SO SO SO crowded. Anyway, I bought a very nice ring with leopard prints on it. Very much in love with the ring <3>
On Christmas day, I lazed around at home till Mom suggested dinner out. OK! So we headed to town, AGAIN!!! Had to deal with the crowd AGAIN!! Ate at Flying Chilies, nothing spectacular and they actually ran out of Mango with Sticky Rice. I couldn't believe it, they ruined my dessert plans.

and so I ended up eating this chendol with jackfruit thing.

Shopping wise; nothing much because I found everything over-rated and over-priced. But my brother had a whirl-wind window-shopping experience. He was going gaga and trying on all the outerwear in ZARA and Uniquo, deciding on which one to get.
Btw, I made a new discovery; NewLook has got oh-so-many shoes!!

Yup, this was what he was doing the whole day and he has his eyes set on this trench coat in Uniquo
This was how my mom look like when she complained about how much outerwear he has at home.

And so while they banter, I took pictures. HAHAHA

Okay, back to work now. Bye all, and have a good weekend :)

I woke up to raindrops splattering against my window and I cursed why the night is gone already. But I know wallowing in self-pity isn't making me any better, so I've finally dragged myself out of bed. I should have gone clubbing last night instead of staying home to accumulate brownies points.
I hope it will be a good day out today, I love to head out to the streets when the weather is good. I'm going to pull together a nice and cozy outfit, then stuff myself silly at YUMCHA. Then I'll shop the streets at Chinatown or Arab. I'm not going anywhere near madcow Orchard and get myself squashed admist the crazy crowds.

Crowds, please distance yourself from me today.
thank you very much.

Know this thing called faith? How people continue to hold a strong belief in something with no evidence?? We should applause for the courage of such people.
But when there are so many evidence which eventually led to the build up of faith; can you still overlook that possible belief?? I want to question all the belief I've held so strongly to. But I've also came to realize that ignorance is bliss.

I wonder how many people have actually wasted their time waiting for someone in vain. Sometimes just waiting or to be kept in suspense could easily be a blessing in disguise. Even if friends advised against it, and tell you its foolish because there are greener pastures.
However, when you decide that you no longer want to wait or to be kept in suspense anymore. That is when you have to muster the courage to acknowledge that the wait could possibly be in vain... And all belief can be overthrown, no matter how much faith you've once had...

Don't ask me if it's worth it. I'm still searching for the answer.

It's the last weekend before Christmas and I'm sitting on a stack of flyers at my booth, working and typing this post. The long awaited holiday is finally here. Even though I have to kiss my Ace goodbye for the Resort Management paper since I did not finish it in time, I'm glad the term is over for the time being... Headed to town with Farouk and I really want to spend my money on something but nothing seems to catch my eyes. Even the mango sales was disappointing; at least to me.

It is unimaginable how fast time flies this year. Six months in the states just went by like this, then back to school and now its the term break already. Before I know it, I'll be done with school and graduation will come. THEN! WHAT DO I DO??? I hate to imagine if I can't get a spot in the local university.

My schedule for January is TOTALLLY INSANEEE, btw!!!!

Okay, I don't really have much to say. I'm looking forward to the commencement of the week and Christmas :))

Bye y'all :))

teenage dreams in a teenage circus

I am angry at situations which may seemed to be very well-justified. Feeling angsty at situations which are so well justified that I can't rebutt leaving me with no reasons to be angry. Yet I know, I have all the rights to be angry and I want to say it out loud. But the idea of voicing it out makes me seemed ridiculous and that's the last thing I want from myself. Maybe I am frustrated because I feel too cooped up.

It may make no sense to you, so don't bother deciphering.
At the very least, it makes sense to me.

It was a very good day today, lots of food for thoughts. So, I was told I'm too soft-hearted which is why I can get pushed around easily. At least, I forgive and forget too easily and too quickly when the issues concerns the people I love. I don't know if its a bad thing to cave in too much. Maybe I just didn't want to deal with the aftermath.

I don't know if things which I do or convince myself of are merely sheer efforts on my part to grasp on tightly. Hanging on tightly to loose, thin threads.... Who knows, you may have long let go. Or worst, was never in existence.

Read as you may; but don't bother asking me the catalyst behind this post. If it struck a chord in your heart, then good for you. Like I say; its all food for thought.

BURNT AND SNAPPED!

HELLOOOO......

After almost having to burn the midnight oil, I've finally submitted six service journal and six analysis at noon. Completely relieved and exhausted.
The day was only made worst when I had to sit through two hours of decision sciences about some constraints and yield management. Then additional assignments were given to us due this friday because we're too slow in our learning.

A blank document now awaits me and the blinking cursor kept prompting me to start working on my marketing analysis for entrepreneur due later this week on friday.

At the back of my mind, I kept thinking if I should go look through my role play script and think of some buffer to save me from my teacher's attack tomorrow. So tell me; which should I do now?!?!?!

It an endless cycle of projects and assignments all shoved to us. We can have two to three assignments due on a day, how crazy is that! I feel like a rubber band right now; stretched and I just hope I don't snap anytime soon.

I wanna go party this Wednesday so I need to buck up and complete my work. The dance floor and Lady Gaga is ushering me to join in. I can feel it in my bones... i just need to complete my work first... ROARRRRRRR

This is a good weather to head out of the door in a pretty dress matched with an oversized cardigan to enjoy the after-rain breeze.

Walk down the street, get a seat in an alfresco cafe, order a drink and cake; preferably a chocolate cake and waste the afternoon away admist the company and banter of my friends.

This was what I wanted to do the moment the rain stopped and the weather calmed down.

Sad fact of life: I was stuck indoor working on assignments while I dreamed away the possiblity of that happening. Each time the breeze hit me through my room's window, I want to text someone, get dressed and leave the house. But I did not.

So here I am, watching the cursor blink on my unfinished sentence in my report and occasionally checking on FB. My only source to the outside world's happening...

BELLA SWAN, EDWARD CULLEN

Having spent a smashing six months away from home, school and most importantly reality has thrown me off the equilibrium, completely. Sometimes, I wish I could just stay in Disney, work for Mickey and Nemo, make friends with the world, paying peanuts for expensive/exclusive labels and party my ass off (though I'm no where near the legal age to drink).
But fuck, anything is better than what I have to deal with right now.

Assignment deadlines are hot on my heels but I have completely lost the motivation to study after the internship... THIS IS B-A-D!!!!!!!! Also thinking of what I want to do after graduation sends me into a frenzyyy. I have a couple of thoughts, one of which received instant disapproval from my dad but I disregard his thinking and will pursue it if possible. Qualitative modules are still manageable but Decision Sciences is really fucking my brain up, instant congestion!!!!!! Its supposedly a university module and so we're just skimming the surface. I thought it was really cool initially but now, i take back my words.

The only motivation to see me through is my Graduation Trip to Taiwan and maybe Bangkok. Am working the weekends to earn it and I can't wait for my pay to get in so I can book the tickets immediately. I need to escape this mundane town!

Just watched 2012 and I'm in awe with the effects and nonetheless; I'm pretty sure the movie struck everyone who watched it, unless, of course you have chosen to be oblivious (once again???). Many a time, we have chosen to turn a blind eye to all the disasters happening just because it doesn't strike or relate to us. But think of the Artic ice melting, drought causing the famine and damage of the ozone layer. All of which has its irreversible impact on us, so all fellow humans, be kind to the earth.

p.s. I wished I'm in the States so I can catch New Moon which is showing tomorrow(America time, i think). I'm so excited for the movie, I have been playing the trailer repeatedly and IF time permits, I'll re-read that chapter of the sage again...HEHEHE

I've decided to embark on a year long mission to organise my room; because no matter how much stuff i throw away, I can't seem to find the all the space for my clothes and bags. My earrings especially, are giving me a huge headache.

oh well... should have known better. BUT, its so hard to resist all the shopping in the states, I still feel like I should have bought more...
OK, SHUTUP!

T.I.M.S.U.M

I have no idea where to start... Juggling Facebook and a blog can be quite mentally taxing, besides I do all my updates on FB that my blog is pretty much obsolete.

Let's see, high tea at Yum Cha for Dad's birthday celebration! That was an absolutely delightful meal for my tastebuds because I havent had good tim-sum in, SIX months. The best thing is Dad's an avid fan of tim-sum, so it works just fine to bring him there for the celebration. They make really fantastic portugese egg-tarts, I was popping them into my mouth. I'm really bad with food description, but let's just say the crust was crisp & fluff and the egg custard was so soft and flavourful that it melts in the mouth. Perfect for each other!!!!

highlight of my meal

and the timsum that follows..

With the commencment of school in just a couple of days, I've resolved to party hard and then be a good schoolgirl with my lecture notes for the next four months.

Halloween Night on Saturday; EXCITINGGGG and can y'all spell PARRRTYYYY!!!!!!!!

And the Jay-Z song was on

So I put my hands up, they're playin' my song

The butterflies fly away

I'm noddin' my head like "Yeah!

Movin' my hips like "Yeahhhhh!!!!!

HELLOOO SINGAPORE

It has been a good week since I've finally reached home after been away for a good six months. It's an undeniable fact that coming back home, seeing my friends and family was really exciting and amazing.
As wonderful as it is, little did I expect the culture shock that awaits me. Having lived here almost my whole life, I thought I would have no problem adapting back... However, the past week has proved me wrong.... It's not only a matter of getting used to the way things work, but most importantly how our people are...

I felt horrified each time they bestow me with their ungracious and inconsiderate behaviour; to think I've highly promoted our country to all my friends...
If we really want to place ourself on the global map, we have better work on our service standards and to be more gracious and considerate.
Just the other day, Andrea and I had lunch at HEI Sushi and it was then I remembered how bad our service staff can be... Maybe I shouldn't benchmark using the America standards, but the least that waitress could do was SMILE... I doubt she can even make any recommendation if I were to ask...

Going to head back to school later to submit my final report, can't wait to see if anything interesting awaits me... I promise I will clean up my room on tuesday after I'm done with my report.... and I'm sure I will do it!!!!

till later

Friday, October 2, 2009

I'm glad I have a little time here in the airport to write up another post before I head back to Singapore. Bid my last farewell to Nemo and everyone at work, friends I've made over this short span of 6 months. It was hard but I know I have to go and I'm just thankful for the opportunity I've had to do my internship in Disney World. As much as I complain about work and how I wanted to go home during the early months, now I wished I could stay on for a little while more. To forge a deeper friendship with all these people I've met and to do more things which I haven't had the chance to, I just wasn't that ready to go....

At the same time, I'm really excited to see everyone back home... My friends and family which I've left behind to pursue this program 6 months ago... I bet there're alot of changes in Singapore now and I'm kind of excited thinking about when my flight touched down at Changi Airport.

So I've finally checked in my luggage and I've got to tell you, that was an eventful check-in with the sorting of luggage. Apparently I'm the only one with attrocious excess weight, so my adorable friends tyng, jasmine and Ben has kindly allow my stuff to bunk in with their luggage. OR I would have to pay USD$300 in total for both bags. My heart was palpitating each time I set it on the scale and how despondent I felt when it was still overweight. I'm glad I'm done with all of those...

Yeap, no amount of words can sum up my entire experience here and I'm glad to say I've gave a beautiful full-stop to the best summer of my life.

the art of technology;

ALSO A REFLECTION OF MANKIND'S LAZINESS

that's right!! Sarah is just sitting less than 50m away from me but we're conversing with our face plastered to the screen (on msn) instead of talking face to face...

And just yesterday, I had facebook remind me of everyone's upcoming birthday, some other would have totally slipped through my mind if not thanks to facebook.

Instead of calling or meeting up with people to know how they're getting by, we just read update or look at photos of each other on various kind of social network.

As efficient as technology is; helping us build a bridge to tasks deemed impossible in the past, it has somehow made us lazier and had definitely not helped to draw individuals' mind together.

Pardon my rattle above, its just something that came across my mind. I have exactly SIX days before my return. Lots of things going on in my mind, things to do before I go and places to visit!!! I have got only four more days of work but I have got no mood for Nemo!! drat!

I have a couple of pictures from my trip to South Carolina, so enjoy!

These are just a few of the many which we've took... I'll upload the rest on fb so check that out. I'll probably upload pics from my visit to SeaWorld!!!

BYEEE!!!
